NCF 2005 by N.C.E.R.T. emphasizes to lessen the burden on students, be it the syllabi or the evaluation system. Acting on the same guidelines C.B.S.E. also has introduced the system of CCE (Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation) for classes 9th and 10th.Besides, the C.B.S.E has strongly recommended for the same evaluation method for the junior classes also in all the schools affiliated to it. Taking guidelines from the same the school has developed its own examination system. In this system, students are continuously and comprehensively assessed through out the year. The overall goal of assessment is to improve students’ learning. Assessment provides students, parents and teachers with valid information concerning student progress. Assessment requires the gathering of evidence of students’ performance over a period of time to measure learning and understanding. Along with that, written tests are also held throughout the year, which are called Unit Tests. Such assessment becomes Summative Assessment as the students are assessed on a group of questions and then corrective measures are taken. These unit tests are compulsory for every student of the school and no request for reorganizing is entertained. However, in case of extreme and genuine emergency, average marks on the basis of previous tests may be considered with the prior permission of the Principal. In classes III to X, the whole curriculum is divided into two terms and in each term; two Formative Assessments and three Summative Assessments are held. Hence, up to the end of the session a child takes four Formative Assessments and six Summative Assessments. Both Assessments consist of 50% each of the Final Result for these classes. Scheme of Examination
The system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation is followed from Class I to X. The academic year is divided into two terms. The pupil’s progress is assessed throughout the year through Formative Assessments (pen and paper tests, oral and group activities etc.)and at the end of each term through Summative Assessments. Students are graded on a nine-point scale and a minimum grade D is necessary to be declared ‘Pass’ in each subject.

CLASSES III to X
Two Formative Assessments and one Summative Assessment are Conducted in each term. Term1 FA-1(10%)+ FA-2 (10%) SA-1 (30%)=(FA+SA) = 50% Term2 FA-3(10%)+FA-4(10%) SA-2 (30%)= (FA+SA) = 50% Grand Total-Term 1 (50%)+Term 2 (50%)=100%

Terminal Examinations
The final report and promotion will be based on the student’s performance throughout the year. The performance will be weighed as follows:-

1. Pupils are required to appear for all the examinations as scheduled. Students absent for an examination for any reason whatsoever will not be re-examined. In case of absence due to illness, a doctor’s certificate will be required. Absence for any other reason will not be condoned.
2. If a student misses the final examination due to illness, promotion will be on the basis of performance during the year and at the discretion of the Principal.
